Built for research

Built for research

Precision Tissue grew out of Tissue Access for Patient Benefit (TAPb), a research unit established within UCL in 2014 and later at the Royal Free London.
As our work expanded to encompass laboratory processing, clinical trials, and a wider network of clinicians and researchers, Precision Tissue was created as an independent entity - nimble enough to move at the pace of commercial biomedical research, underpinned by the governance and institutional relationships built over more than a decade inside
the system.

Every sample we provide is donated with informed consent and handled in line with the donor's wishes. That's not just our ethical commitment, it's the foundation of the governance that protects
your research.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, we pivoted our
entire operation within weeks to become one of
the first hospitals in Europe supplying samples to researchers developing diagnostics and vaccines
for the global response.
We have since supported novel biomarker diagnostics for cancer with fast-track regulatory approval, point-of-care infection testing for emergency care settings, and first-in-human trials for acute organ failure treatment now progressing to efficacy stage.
